Net after fees calculator
Pick the platform, enter the sale, and see what you keep. Each rate is the platform’s published standard rate, with the date we checked it and a link to the source. Promotions, category rates and store subscriptions change the real fee, so if your payout is in front of you, type its fee over the estimate.

THE RATES
The published fees we use
Rates last checked October 16, 2026. Gross means the sale price plus the shipping the buyer paid you. Where a platform also charges its fee on sales tax the buyer paid, the table says so; the calculator leaves tax out, so the real fee on those platforms runs a little higher.
| Platform | Standard rate | What it is charged on | Source, date checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| eBay | 13.6% of the total sale, plus $0.40 per order ($0.30 when the order is $10.00 or less) | The total amount of the sale, which includes shipping and any sales tax, up to $7,500 per item; 2.35% on the part above $7,500. Most categories, no store subscription. | eBay, Selling fees, October 16, 2026 |
| Poshmark | $2.95 flat on a sale under $15; 20% of the sale at $15 or more | The sale price. The buyer pays for the shipping label. | Poshmark, What are the fees for selling on Poshmark?, October 16, 2026 |
| Mercari | 10%, with no separate payment processing fee | The item price plus the shipping the buyer pays, for listings created or updated on or after January 6, 2025. | Mercari, Selling fees, October 16, 2026 |
| Depop | No selling fee for US sellers; payment processing of 3.3% + $0.45 | The item price plus shipping, and any sales tax. Boosted listings add a boosting fee when the boosted item sells, which is not included here. | Depop, Seller fees and charges, October 16, 2026 |
| Facebook Marketplace | Shipped: 10% per sale, at least $0.80. Local pickup: no fee | The entire amount of the sale, which includes shipping and any sales tax. Facebook’s Marketplace shipping page still says 5%; its Seller Protection Policy says 10%, and we use 10%. | Meta, Seller Protection Policy, October 16, 2026 |
| OfferUp | No fee on a sale paid in person | OfferUp stopped offering shipping: new listings have been local pickup only since September 23, 2025, and shipping was removed from older listings on October 21, 2025. | OfferUp, Nationwide shipping ending, October 16, 2026 |

How the math works
What you keep is the sale price plus the shipping the buyer paid you, less the platform fee, less what you paid for the label, less what the item cost you.
The platform fee follows each platform’s own rule. eBay, Mercari, Depop and Facebook charge their percentage on the sale price plus shipping. Poshmark charges on the sale price alone, and its buyer pays for the label, so leave both shipping fields empty for a Poshmark sale. Fixed amounts, such as eBay’s $0.40 per order or Depop’s $0.45, are added once per sale. Facebook’s $0.80 minimum and Poshmark’s $2.95 flat fee replace the percentage when they apply.
If you type the fee from your payout, the estimate is set aside and your number is used.
Three examples
- A $40 item on eBay, with $8 shipping charged and a $7.20 label. The fee is 13.6% of $48, which is $6.53, plus $0.40, for $6.93. You keep $33.87 before item cost.
- A $14.99 top on Poshmark pays the flat $2.95 and keeps $12.04. The same top at $15.00 pays 20%, $3.00, and keeps $12.00, so a penny under $15 keeps four cents more.
- A $25 lamp shipped through Facebook Marketplace, with $6 shipping charged and a $5.50 label. The fee is 10% of $31, $3.10. You keep $22.40 before item cost. Sold for local pickup, the fee is zero and you keep $25.
What the calculator leaves out
- Sales tax the buyer paid, which eBay, Depop and Facebook include in their fee base.
- Promoted or boosted listing fees, which apply only when the promoted item sells.
- Store subscriptions, extra listing fees and international or currency fees.
- Returns, refunds and claims.
- Income tax. This tool tells you what a sale kept and nothing more.
