UNDR CTRL GUIDE

A home maintenance app, plus a free seasonal checklist

Home upkeep rarely feels urgent until it is. A filter nobody changed, a gutter that overflowed, an alarm with a dead battery. The fix is a short list of jobs for each season and a record of when each was last done. Start with the free checklist below, then keep it going in UNDR CTRL.

Free seasonal home checklist

A starting list of common jobs for spring, summer, fall and winter, with columns for the date you did each one, what it cost and any notes. Cross out what does not apply to your place and add your own.

How to use the checklist

  1. Make it yours. Renters can skip the roof and gutters. A house with a pool, a well or a fireplace will have more to add.
  2. Pick a weekend each season. Most of the jobs take minutes. Doing them together means you only have to remember four dates a year.
  3. Write down when, and what it cost. The next time a service visit or a repair comes up, you know when it was last done and what you paid.
  4. Keep a project list too. Bigger jobs, like painting a room or replacing a fence, need a budget and a few steps. Write each project down with its budget so it gets planned instead of put off.

Doing it in UNDR CTRL

The Home area of UNDR CTRL holds your upkeep schedule and your projects in the same app as your bills, appointments and car:

  • Upkeep that repeats, every few weeks, months or once a year, so each job comes back on its own date.
  • Projects with a budget and step-by-step guidance, so a big job becomes a list of steps you can finish.
  • Every date in your calendar on iPhone, Google Calendar or Outlook.
  • Shared with your household, or kept to yourself.

More free sheets: bills, subscriptions, car service and a weekly reset.
